About
An eye for beauty. A passion for individuality.
David Bailey's career in interiors began in the United Kingdom, where he studied interior design before developing his professional experience with leading London design houses, including Heal's.
After moving to Australia, David established himself within Sydney's design community, working with respected names including DOMO and Cadrys. His experience across furniture, textiles, decorative finishes and fine antique carpets helped shape an appreciation for craftsmanship, material quality and the details that bring an interior together.
More than a decade ago, David established David Bailey Interiors to pursue a more personal approach to design and share his passion for beautiful spaces with clients across Australia.
His own tastes are eclectic, informed by an appreciation for antiques, natural materials, rich textures and objects with a sense of history. Yet he believes a successful interior should express the personality of its owner, rather than the signature style of the designer.
This philosophy gives him the confidence to be adventurous with colour and pattern, while recognising when a quieter, more restrained approach is right.
Above all, David believes in the importance of personal relationships. Every client works directly with him, from the first conversation to the final details.
Whether designing an entire residence, advising on a single room or searching the world for one remarkable piece, his approach remains the same: attentive, individual and guided by an understanding of the people who will live with the result.
A personal approach
David works with clients from every background, on projects of every scale. There are no prescribed design formulas or minimum project sizes. Each engagement is shaped around the individual, with services and fees tailored to the project's requirements.
Based in Sydney, David works throughout New South Wales and Australia, with international projects and online consultations available by arrangement.
